About the role
The Fire Safety Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of UNSOS personnel, facilities, and assets by managing fire safety operations, coordinating emergency response, and maintaining compliance with international fire safety standards. The International Individual Contractor will assist the Head of Fire Safety Unit, liaise with host government fire and emergency services, manage a 24/7 Fire Service, draft and update Fire Safety and Emergency Evacuation Plans, conduct fire risk assessments and inspections, and supervise fire safety activities.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent technical/vocational certificate
Skills
- Professionalism: Knowledge of security management, combined with solid background of military, police or security specialization; ability to manage security challenges in post-conflict environment.
- Communication: Speaks and writes clearly and effectively; listens to others, correctly interprets messages, and responds appropriately.
