About the role
The Humanitarian Context Analyst is a key member of the Humanitarian team within the Somalia Country Office, responsible for collecting information, monitoring humanitarian developments, analyzing data, and producing timely contextual and analytical reports to support evidence-based decision-making by the Senior Leadership Team and programme teams.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Humanitarian Affairs, International Relations, Political Science, Development Studies, Conflict Studies, Social Sciences, Statistics, Data Analysis, or other relevant field.
Skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent report writing, information synthesis, and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of humanitarian principles, emergency preparedness, and context analysis methodologies.
- Ability to analyze trends, risks, and operational developments and translate them into actionable information.
- Strong coordination, planning, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); knowledge of data visualization tools is desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Somali is an added advantage.
