Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Associate

About the role

The MHPSS Associate will support the implementation of mental health and psychosocial services within health inclusion initiatives in Melkadida, Ethiopia. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated MHPSS programming integrated across health, protection, GBV, child protection, education, nutrition, and community-based protection sectors. The incumbent will provide technical and strategic support to government institutions, UN agencies, and partners through coordination, capacity strengthening, implementation of scalable interventions, strengthening referral pathways, suicide prevention, and promoting sustainable integration of MHPSS within regional health and protection systems.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Psychiatry, Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, or mental health (Master's preferred).

Skills

• Experience with evidence-based MHPSS programming and capacity building.
• Ability to operate effectively in challenging contexts and adapt to changing situations.
• Strong networking and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to facilitate capacity transfer to government health staff.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
