About the role
The World Food Programme is seeking a Programme Policy Officer (Relief) to provide technical support and assist in the development and implementation of relief, livelihood, nutrition, school feeding and safety net activities in the Mogadishu Area Office. The role involves contributing to strategies, policies, and programs, preparing reports and data analysis, managing operations, and forging partnerships with local authorities and NGOs.
Education
Advanced University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Science or other relevant field, OR First University Degree with additional years of related work experience
Skills
- Experience in the field with ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Good writing and presentation skills in English
- Experience utilizing computers including Word processing, Excel spreadsheet and other WFP standard software packages
- General knowledge of UN systems and policies, rules, regulations and procedures
