About the role
The Project Advisor will contribute to the day-to-day operations of the project 'Support for Internally Displaced Persons, Host Communities and Reintegration of Returnees in Somalia', implemented by GIZ on behalf of BMZ and the EU. The role involves coordinating field activities in Mogadishu, supporting implementation, planning, monitoring and reporting, maintaining effective working relations with local authorities and partners, and contributing to policy dialogue and advisory processes.
Education
University degree in social sciences, development studies, public policy, international relations or a related field.
Skills
- Fluent written and spoken English and Somali (native). German language will be an asset.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under time pressure.
- Sound understanding of the Somali political, social and cultural context, including conflict dynamics.
- Commitment to gender equality, conflict sensitivity and do-no-harm principles.
- Proficiency in standard office software and reporting tools.
- Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed.
- Proactive, structured approach to work with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Customer- and service-oriented attitude.
- Maintains confidentiality in handling data and information.
- High commitment to integrity.
