About the role

This position is located within the United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS). The Senior Logistics Officer serves as the Chief of the Mission Support Centre (MSC), based in Mogadishu, and reports to the Chief of Operations and Resource Management. The MSC is responsible for planning, coordinating, and liaising with all mandated clients, including the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), the United Nations Transitional Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNTMIS), the Somali Security Forces (SSF), and other supported entities, to deliver timely and effective logistics support.

Education

Advanced university degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in business administration, public administration, management, engineering, law or related fields; or a first-level degree with two additional years of relevant experience.

Skills

  • Professionalism: Knowledge of logistics operations and practices, along with an understanding of fiscal policies and procedures, with the ability to apply them effectively within the United Nations environment. Ability to develop logistics policies, procedures and new programmes.
